From the time I first began photographing portraits and figures, I chafed at the limitations of working inside studios. All those artificial lights and reflectors never resulted in the naturalness and warmth I wanted to see in all of my images. Perhaps that is the result of having painted portraits from the age of fourteen. Whatever the reason, I adore using only natural light and whatever shadows enhance the subject(s) and essence I am intent on expressing.
